STILLWATER – Oklahoma State outdoor track & field picked up right where it left off on Thursday with more impressive performances across three meets on Friday.
Ryan Schoppe followed up Taylor Roe's record-breaking performance with one of his own at the Bryan Clay Invitational in Azusa, Calif., breaking German Fernandez's ten-year-old school record in the 1,500 Meters with his time of 3:37.43. Schoppe finished fifth overall amongst collegiate athletes in a championship-level field in which the collegiate record also fell in the race.
Kian Davis also competed in the men's 1,500 and set a new PR with an impressive time of 3:43.15 which unofficially moves up to sixth overall in the Big 12.
On the women's side, Sivan Auerbach and Maddie Salek also competed in the 1,500 Meters, with Auerbach running a blistering personal-record time of 4:17.13. Her time unofficially puts her first in the Big 12 in the event and moves her into 9th in program history.
The rest of the Cowboys and Cowgirls competed in the Sooner Invitational in Norman, Okla., as well as the Tom Jones Memorial Invitational in Gainesville, Fla.
At the Sooner Invitational, Sam Mason set a new personal record with a 56.72 meter Hammer Throw, which moves him up to third on OSU's all-time list and breaks his previous personal best by over four meters.
