April 14, 2022 | Cowgirl Cross Country & Track
STILLWATER – For the second time in as many weeks, Oklahoma State outdoor track & field will travel across the country to compete in three separate meets.
The distance squad, headlined by national champion Taylor Roe, heads to Azusa, Calif., to compete in the Bryan Clay Invitational.
Roe opened her outdoor season last week at the Joe Walker Invitational in the 1,500 Meters, finishing with a time of 4:19.78, which is currently second in the Big 12 behind teammate Gabija Galvydyte.
Alex Maier and Shea Foster are both competing in California for the second time this season after opening up at the Stanford Invitational two weeks ago in Palo Alto. Maier and Foster will be running in the Open 5K on Thursday after putting down impressive 10K times at Stanford. The pair are currently seventh and 16th in the NCAA in the 10,000 Meters, respectively, with times of 28:18.18 and 28:25.44.
Maddie Salek, Sivan Auerbach, Kian Davis, Isaiah Priddey and Ryan Schoppe will all be competing in the 1,500 Meters on Friday with the latter four competing in the same event last week. Auerbach is currently fifth in the Big 12 on the women's side with Schoppe, Priddey and Davis all in the top eight on the men's side.
OSU's sprint group will be heading to Gainesville, Fla., to compete in the Tom Jones Memorial Invitational.
Both the men's and women's 4x400 squads will competing after each has broken the school record in the event this season. The men's team of EJ Berry, Koryee Wyatt, Charlie Bartholomew and DJ McArthur broke the 29-year-old program record time of 3:05.64 at the Texas Relays with their time of 3:05.51.
Just one week later, the women's 4x400 squad of Christina Ollison, Nickie Dixon, Kalaya Ali and Tamara Woodley upended the previous school record by more than a second at the Baylor Invitational. The previous record was set last year at the NCAA West Prelims with Ali and Ollison also running on that team.
The rest of the OSU team will head to Norman, Okla., to compete in the Sooner Invitational on Friday and Saturday.
Bailey Golden will be competing in the Heptathlon for the second time this season after opening her outdoor season in the event last week in Tucson, Ariz., at the Jim Click Invitational. Golden is second on OSU's all-time list in the event in both the Heptathlon and indoor Pentathlon.
Victor Shitsama and Will Muirhead compete for the second time this season after each opened up at Stanford two weeks ago. Both will be competing in the 3,000 Meter Steeplechase for the first time this season after Shitsama ran the 10K and Muirhead ran the 5K in Palo Alto.
