Oklahoma State Cross Country prepares to host Cowboy Preview
August 28, 2025 | Cowgirl Cross Country & Track
STILLWATER – Oklahoma State men's and women's cross country will each open their seasons at home with the Cowboy Preview at the Greiner Family OSU Cross Country Course, with Northwestern (W), Oklahoma (M&W), Redlands CC (M&W) and Tulsa (M&W) each competing in the exhibition.
The Cowboys enter the season ranked No. 3 in the country in the USTFCCCA Preseason National Coaches' Poll, the fourth straight year they enter the season ranked inside the top three nationally. OSU returns three two-time All-Americans in Denis Kipngetich (fourth in 2023, 11th in 2024), Fouad Messaoudi (12th in 2022, tenth in 2023) and Brian Musau (eighth in 2023, fifth in 2024). However, the trio are unlikely to compete until later in the season.
Meanwhile, the Cowgirls enter the season ranked No. 14 and are primed for a resurgent season with the return of All-American Billah Jepkirui, who placed seventh at the 2023 NCAA Cross Country Championships and redshirted last season. Last year, the OSU women won their third straight regional title and like the men's team, will likely be resting several starters until later in the season.
The Cowboy Preview starts with the men's 5K race at 8:15 a.m. CT, with the women's 3K immediately following at 8:45 a.m. CT.
