Cowboys Cap Two Day, Three-Match Weekend With 7-0 Win Over Oral Roberts

STILLWATER, Okla. – Oklahoma State men's tennis completed a two-day, three-match homestand on Sunday evening, taking down Oral Roberts, 7-0, at the Greenwood Tennis Center.
Oklahoma State closed out its three-match weekend with wins over Omaha, Lamar and Oral Roberts, respectively..
The Golden Eagles soared out to a 6-0 doubles victory, with Leighton Allen and Carl Roothman falling to Eli Brewer and Gustavo Pinho. On the return, Chase Ferguson and Alessio Basile fired right back for the Cowboys, rolling out a 6-0 victory against Jonathan Evans and Kevin Leuenberger.
With the doubles point up for grabs, Francisco Pini and Tyler Zink sealed the deal, delivering a 6-2 victory, and a 1-0 lead for OSU.
The freshman tandem of Basille and Roothman hit the ground running in singles, as Basille took down Evans, 6-2, 6-3, while Roothman defeated Filho, 6-0, 6-3.
Allen brought the Cowboys the game-sealing set, winning over Brewer, 6-3, 6-1, for a 4-0 Cowboy edge.
Ferguson continued his impressive debut weekend, besting Vinas 7-5, 6-1. Zink added to the action, taking down Pinho in three sets, 4-6, 6-1, 6-1.
Pini wrapped up play after leading Ezequiel Monferrer, 4-6, 6-3, 4-0, before winning via retirement.
The Cowboys will be back in action when they hit the road to face North Carolina on Saturday, Jan. 28.
