Cowgirls Come Up Short At K-State, 59-48

MANHATTAN, Kan. — Oklahoma State's women's basketball team could not overcome a tough shooting night on Wednesday, seeing its two-game winning streak come to an end with a 59-48 loss to Kansas State in front of 2,821 fans inside Bramlage Coliseum.
The Cowgirls fell to 12-5 overall and 3-3 in league play with the loss, while the Wildcats improved to 13-6 and 4-3.
K-State opened the game on a 10-0 run, while OSU finished just one of 15 from the floor in the opening period to trail, 12-3.
The Cowgirls opened with the first seven points of the second stanza and moved in front on a steal and layup from freshman Ja'Mee Asberry, going ahead 16-14.
OSU would take a 22-19 lead at the break.
A 2-of-9 start by the Cowgirls in the third allowed the Wildcats to regain the lead and take a 34-32 advantage into the final period.
K-State used a 7-0 run with 3:25 remaining to build its lead to double digits at 47-37.
For the game, OSU shot just 23.6 percent, including an 18.5 percent clip from beyond the 3-point arc.
Sophomore Braxtin Miller led the way with 15 points, four boards and four steals, while classmate Vivian Gray had her second career double-double with 14 points and 10 rebounds.
