Cowgirls Fall To Wildcats, 53-50

MANHATTAN, Kan. (OSU Athletics) -- Oklahoma State's women's basketball team suffered its fourth consecutive loss on Wednesday night, dropping a 53-50 contest at Kansas State in front of 2,797 fans inside Bramlage Coliseum.
With the loss, OSU moved to 13-11 overall and 5-10 in Big 12 play. Kansas State improved to 18-9 and 9-6.
The Wildcats opened with 10 of the game's first 12 points, while the Cowgirls hit just one of their first nine shots before OSU answered with the game's next 12 points.
The two teams battled back in forth for the remainder of the half with OSU eventually taking a 23-22 lead into the break. Jalana Childs single-handedly provided the K-State offense through the first 20 minutes, hitting nine of her 13 shots from the field and scoring 18 of her squad's 22 points.
The Cowgirls stretched the lead to six before the Wildcats used a 10-0 run to move in front 42-36 with less than eight minutes to go. OSU scored the game's next six points, but K-State responded with the next five to lead 47-42 with 3:35 to go.
OSU fought back and tied the game at 47 with 1:12 remaining on a 3-pointer by junior Lindsey Keller, but the Wildcats answered with a 3-pointer of their own with 47 seconds left. K-State sealed the win with three free throws in the last 15 seconds.
Freshman Liz Donohoe led OSU with 12 points and 12 rebounds for her third career double-double. She was joined in double figures by sophomore Tiffany Bias, who scored 10 points and grabbed six rebounds.
Childs led all scorers with 22 points on the night.
The Cowgirls will be back in action on Saturday at 7 p.m. when they host Iowa State in Stillwater.
