STILLWATER, Okla. - Oklahoma State's women's basketball team saw its two-game winning streak come to an end on Saturday with its 67-56 loss to Kansas State in front of 2,931 fans inside Gallagher-Iba Arena.
With the loss, OSU fell to 12-5 overall and 4-4 in Big 12 play. K-State improved to 14-7 and 4-4.
After falling behind by 26 with 12 minutes left in the contest, the Cowgirls chipped away at the deficit and cut the margin to six at 60-54 with 1:20 left, but could get no closer.
The Wildcats came into the contest ninth in the league in 3-point field-goal percentage, but hit OSU with a barrage from beyond the arc. Led by Brittany Chambers, K-State found its stroke, connecting on 7 of its 12 3-pointers in the first half, including three by Chambers, to send the Cowgirls into the break trailing 35-24.
OSU managed just eight field goals in the half while shooting 31 percent en route to its largest halftime deficit of the season.
K-State picked up where it left off to start the second half, hitting its first two 3-pointers of the period and holding the Cowgirls to just three points through the first eight minutes to stretch its lead to 53-27.
Chambers led all scorers with 29 points and added a game-high 10 rebounds.
OSU sophomore Tiffany Bias matched her career high with 21 points and added six assists and four steals.
Bias was joined in double figures by junior Lindsey Keller, who finished with 14 points and nine rebounds.
The Cowgirls will be back in action on Feb. 1 when they travel to Iowa State for a 7 p.m. contest.
