Cowboys Dip Into Second In Puerto Rico

RIO GRANDE, Puerto Rico - Oklahoma State's men's golf team carded a 279 during its second round at the Puerto Rico Classic on Monday to slip into second place at Rio Mar Country Club's River Course.
The top-ranked Cowboys' 9-under score moved them to 22-under 554 for the event, but pushed them down one spot in the standings. Texas used a 269 during its second round to surge to the top of the leaderboard. The Longhorns will enter their final round with a 30-under total of 546.
Texas' Cody Gribble used a 65 during his second round to overtake the individual lead with a 12-under 132 total.
OSU junior Kevin Tway entered the day atop the leaderboard, but dropped into a tie for second place with Georgia's Harris English at 11-under 133. After an opening 65, Tway posted a 68 during his second round.
Sophomore Morgan Hoffmann moved into a tie for fifth place after firing a 67 on Monday. Hoffmann enters his final round at 7under 137.
Sophomore Peter Uihlein's 72 put him in a tie for 22nd place at 142, while redshirt freshman Sean Einhaus' 73 gave him a 143 tally and tied him for 30th place.
Senior Trent Whitekiller finished with a 72 and is tied for 40th at 146.
The Cowboys will be grouped with Texas and Clemson for tomorrow's final round. The trio will begin play at the par-72, 6,902-yard layout at 7:30 a.m. (EST).
