STILLWATER, Okla.- Baylor broke a 3-3 tie in the fifth with a five-run sixth inning and went on to cruise from there in an 18-6 win over Oklahoma State in baseball action Friday night at Reynolds Stadium.
The Bears snapped a four-game losing streak and improved to 24-13 overall and 7-6 in the Big 12 while Oklahoma State fell to 22-10 and 7-3 in league play. The loss snapped a five game winning streak for the Cowboys who entered the game in first place in the conference.
Baylor jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first with two solo homers by center fielder Chris Durbin and catcher Josh Ford. They made it 3-0 in the third on a RBI double by David Murphy.

The Bears responded quickly in the sixth when Josh Ford opened the inning with a double and scored on a double by first baseman Mark Saccomanno to go back on top 4-3. BU took advantage of a fielding error by shortstop Chris Gutierrez, that would have ended the inning, to score four more runs to push the lead to 8-3.

The Bears added five runs in the eighth and took a 16-3 lead before the Cowboys scored three in the bottom of the stanza on a solo homer by Jose Virgil and a two-run shot by John Urick. BU closed out the scoring with two runs in the ninth.
