Cowgirls Down Texas-Arlington In Season Opener, 5-3

EDMOND, Okla. --The Oklahoma State women's tennis team opened the season with a 5-3 win over Texas-Arlington Saturday night at the Oak Tree Racquet Club.
The Cowgirls (1-0) got straight-set victories out of their top three players, Dominika Olszewska, Maria Galoustova and Linda Faltynkova before dropping matches at the No. 5 and 6 positions. Marketa Chmelova and Noline Van Denberg did not finish their match due to time constraints.
OSU took two out of three doubles matches on the evening as well, winning at the No. 1 and No. 3 positions. Galoustova and Dolman posted an 8-5 victory, while Olszewska and freshman Erin Pauchnik won by an 8-6 margin.
The Cowgirls will return to action next Saturday when they begin conference play against the University of Texas.
