Cowgirl Duo Advances at Battle in the Bay

STILLWATER – Rose Marie Nijkamp and Lucia Peyre of the Oklahoma State women's tennis team advanced on Friday at the Battle in the Bay in San Francisco, California.
Playing as the nine seed in the draw, the pairing of Nijkamp and Peyre defeated Lera Alexin and Ema Bubalo of Colorado, 8-3, to advance to the doubles semifinals.
In singles, Nijkamp defeated USC's Jana Hossam Salah, 6-3, 6-0. Peyre rounded out the day with a win against Pepperdine's Liam Oved, 6-1, 6-1.
Nijkamp and Peyre will meet the No. 21 ranked pairing of Anastasiia Grechkina and Alexia Harmon from Pepperdine at 11 a.m. CT in Saturday's doubles semifinals.
In the singles quarterfinals Saturday evening, Nijkamp will take on Pepperdine's Harmon and Peyre will battle Emma Charney of USC at 7:30 p.m.
