Cowgirl Catalyst: Haleigh Timmer Powers Cowgirls Past New Orleans
November 03, 2025 | Cowgirl Basketball
STILLWATER – Haileigh Timmer, in her Cowgirl debut, with the help of strong shooting from deep, pushed the Cowgirls past New Orleans.
Playing in her 107th collegiate outing, Timmer rattled off 18 points with a 63.6% clip from the field. In addition, Timmer tied the game-high with four three pointers on 4-8 shooting from distance. The senior earned herself a +/- of 43.
"It was a long preseason, so we're excited to get to games and playing it in front of this crowd was awesome," Timmer said. "It was a lot of fun."
Despite the elite scoring numbers, Timmer was still able to dish the ball out, earning a game-high six assists, one more than New Orleans total assists for the game. Timmer kept control of the ball movement, only turning it over once.
"It's just our style of play," Timmer said. "We all share the ball, get the hottest shot on the floor, and the ball was just in my hands, and I distributed it."
On the opposite side of the ball, Timmer didn't let up, snagging four steals, a game-high and career-tying number for the South Dakota State transfer.
"We have a standard, and we hold to it no matter who we're playing, no matter what the score is," Timmer said. "That allows us to separate even when we are already up by a lot."
Timmer and the rest of the Cowgirls will return to Gallagher-Iba Arena on Wednesday for a battle with East Texas A&M.
