Cowgirl Softball tops Wichita State, 11-4, in fall exhibition
October 16, 2025 | Cowgirl Softball
STILLWATER – The Oklahoma State softball team nabbed an 11-4 exhibition win over Wichita State in 10 innings on Thursday evening at Cowgirl Stadium.
The 10-inning contest consisted of five situational innings, where runners started on base for those innings. Instead of traditional scoring, the team that scored the most runs in that inning got a point for that frame. The remaining five innings were played regularly.
OSU claimed three of the five innings to add three points to its total.
Lexi McDonald and Tia Warsop each tabbed multi-hit performances in the win, while 13 different Cowgirls registered a hit in the contest.
Ruby Meylan got the start in the circle and tossed 4.0 scoreless innings to get the win. Preslee Downing, RyLee Crandall and Madison Hoffman all saw action in the circle for the Pokes and split the remaining six innings near equally.
The OSU offense combined for 15 total hits, including three extra-base knocks. Four different Cowgirls drove in at least a pair of runs, as well.
The Cowgirls wrap up their fall exhibition season against Garden City CC next Wednesday, Oct. 22 at 6:30 p.m. inside Cowgirl Stadium.
