Cowgirl Softball handles Seminole State, 12-0, in fall exhibition

STILLWATER – The Oklahoma State softball team secured a 12-0 exhibition win over Seminole State in 10 innings on Tuesday night at Cowgirl Stadium.
The 10-inning scrimmage featured five situational innings where the team that scored the most runs in that inning was awarded a point. The remaining five innings were played regularly. OSU won four out of five situational innings to add four runs to its total.
Melina Wilkison, Karli Godwin and Kaya Booker all hit home runs in the Cowgirls' win, all of which were solo shots except for Wilkison's three-run blast. Godwin notched her second home run of the fall, while Booker and Melina both recorded their first.
OSU threw four different pitchers in Tuesday's contest, with RyLee Crandall getting the start on the mound and securing the win. Crandall tossed three innings before Madison Hoffman, Ruby Meylan and Preslee Downing came in as relief to split up the final seven innings of the game. The OSU pitching staff combined for seven punchouts and only allowed four hits with one walk.
The OSU offense combined for 14 total hits, six extra-base hits and five walks. 11 different batters recorded a hit, and three had multi-hit games.
The Cowgirls continue their fall season on Thursday, Oct. 16, at 6 p.m. against Wichita State at Cowgirl Stadium.
