Cowboy and Cowgirl Cross Country Open Season with Solid Performances at Cowboy Preview

STILLWATER – Oklahoma State men's and women's cross country kicked off their respective seasons Friday in the Cowboy Preview at the state-of-the-art Greiner Family OSU Cross Country Course.
The Cowboys started things off in the men's 5K, finishing third with 72 points on the day. Kian Davis led the way for the Cowboys, finishing sixth overall with his time of 15:15.4. Loann Brelivet, Daniel Nickell, Grant Wilcox and Wyatt Landis rounded out the scorers for OSU with 14th, 15th, 20th and 30th place finishes, respectively.
On the women's side, Oklahoma native Cayden Dawson led the way for the Cowgirls, notching a top-5 finish in her first official race in the orange and black. Overall, the Cowgirls finished second in the team score behind Arkansas with 53 points, as Krystal Rodriguez, Lilly Lavier, Grace Ping and Madi Surber rounding out the scoring column for OSU.
Up next for the Cowboys and Cowgirls is the 85th annual Cowboy Jamboree, where OSU has swept the individual victories in each of the past two seasons.
