SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – Oklahoma State came up short in its first road contest of the season Sunday, dropping a 2-1 match to Missouri State at Allison South Stadium.

With the loss, the Cowgirls fell to 1-1-0 on the season, while MSU improved to 2-0-0.

OSU outshot the home team, 13-9, including a 7-1 margin in the second half, and the Cowgirls also posted an 8-3 advantage in corner kicks.

The Bears took the game's initial lead in the 10^th minute. After Grace Gordon made a diving save to knock away a shot by Ana Paula Fraiz, MSU took advantage of the subsequent corner kick as Abby Couch found the back of the net to put the home team up, 1-0.

OSU's had two strong chances in the 28^th minute, but a shot from Laudan Wilson was saved by a MSU defender before an attempt from Alex Morris sailed high.

Late in the half, the Cowgirls were awarded a penalty kick after a foul in the box, but Nicole Ray's attempt was saved by MSU goalie Camielle Day.

The Bears doubled their lead to 2-0 with a goal in the 66^th minute as Gracie English found the back of the net.

OSU got on the scoreboard in the 78^th minute. Off a corner kick, Addison Roberts headed the ball into the box where Logan Heausler flicked it in for her second goal of the season to cut the MSU lead to 2-1.

The Cowgirls return to action Thursday when they host Florida Atlantic at Neal Patterson Stadium. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m.
