Cowgirl Soccer Offense Flourishes In Win
September 11, 2025 | Cowgirl Soccer
COMMERCE, Texas – Oklahoma State scored four times in the first 18 minutes en route to a 5-1 win over East Texas A&M Thursday night at Lion Soccer Field.
With the win, the Cowgirls complete the non-conference portion of their schedule with a 4-3-1 record. ETAMU is now 3-5-0 on the season.
Ellie Geoffroy recorded the first multi-goal game of her career with a pair of scores, while Reganne Morris, Emmy Hedden and Emma Alvord also found the back of the net for the Cowgirls.
Geoffroy entered the match with four career goals in four seasons but only 13 minutes into the match, the senior defender had recorded a brace.
The first score came just over eight minutes in as Geoffroy headed in a ball into the box from Chloe Wright to put the Cowgirls up 1-0.
Less than five minutes later, Geoffroy sent in another, this time drilling a shot from 30-yards out top shelf as she connected on the rebound of a shot from Hedden.
Just 42 seconds later, the Cowgirls took a 3-0 advantage. Geoffroy delivered a pass to Sonora DeFini, who sent the ball ahead to a streaking Reganne Morris. A one-touch move by Morris deked a defender and the goalie, leaving her with an open net that she converted.
The rout continued in the 18th minute, with Hedden making her first collegiate game a memorable one as she dribbled past a defender and crushed a 23-yard shot top shelf to the far post for a 4-0 OSU lead.
In the second half, both teams would score off penalty kicks.
Mya Mitchell scored the Lions' lone goal when she converted her opportunity in the 47th minute, but OSU would answer 15 minutes later.
And it was Alvord earning the penalty as she was taken down after a strong charge into the box. Alvord then stepped up and drilled her attempt into the net for her first-career goal in an OSU uniform.
Up next, OSU begins Big 12 Conference play Thursday when the Cowgirls host Kansas.
