Oklahoma State Track & Field Travels to Fayetteville for Arkansas Invitational
January 12, 2023 | Cowboy Cross Country & Track, Cowgirl Cross Country & Track
STILLWATER — Oklahoma State indoor track & field returns to action Friday for the Arkansas Invitational in Fayetteville, Arkansas.
Friday's meet marks the first time all of OSU's event groups will compete at the same meet this season as the Cowboys and Cowgirls look to improve upon their fifth and third-place finishes at the Big 12 Indoor Championships last spring.
Over 60 Cowboys and Cowgirls will be making their season debuts Friday with a few athletes returning to the track after competing at the Sharon Colyear-Danville Season Opener last month in Boston.
First-Team All-American Gabija Galvydyte is making her second appearance this season after winning the Mile in Boston with a time of 4:32.84, which currently leads the NCAA. At the Arkansas Invitational, she will be competing in the 1,000 Meters, where she currently sits eighth in program history.
Three indoor school record holders will be making their season debuts this week with Alex Stitt (1,000 Meters), Ariadni Adamopoulou (Pole Vault) and Saara Hakanen (Triple Jump) all competing in their respective events.
The Arkansas Invitational will be streamed in its entirety on SEC Network + starting at 1 p.m. CT.
