Cowgirl Soccer Remains Perfect

TULSA, Okla. – An own goal lifted Oklahoma State to a 1-0 win over Tulsa Thursday at Hurricane Stadium.
With the win, the Cowgirls improved to 3-0-0 on the season, while TU fell to 1-1-1.
OSU got on the scoreboard in the 35th minute when Ally Jackson sent a long, high ball into the box where a defender headed it over charging TU goalie Raegan Beeding and into the net for an own goal.
In a physical match that saw the two teams combine for 23 fouls and TU draw a pair of yellow cards, the Cowgirls held a decisive advantage in shots at 13-6, with Beeding making seven saves. Olyvia Dowell led OSU with six shots, three of those on goal. Both teams took six corner kicks.
Jordan Nytes played the full game in goal for OSU to record her first-career shutout.
OSU returns to action at home Sunday when the Cowgirls host Oklahoma in a non-conference Bedlam match at Neal Patterson Stadium. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m.
