August 16, 2022 | Cowgirl Soccer
IRVING, Texas - Oklahoma State was picked to finish fifth in the 2022 Big 12 Conference standings in a preseason vote of the league's head coaches.
Â
The Cowgirls are coming off a season in which they finished fourth in the league with a 4-3-1 mark. OSU posted a 9-6-3 overall record a year ago and returns six starters from that squad.
Â
Defending champion TCU is the favorite to retain its crown, earning seven first-place votes, while Texas was picked second and West Virginia third. Up next was Texas Tech before the Cowgirls rounded out the top half of the poll.
Â
OSU opens the season Thursday at Omaha before returning to Stillwater for its home opener Sunday against Missouri State at Neal Patterson Stadium.
