With the doubles point on the line, it came down to OSU's Mathieu Scaglia and Etienne Donnet on court three. A consistent back-and-forth battle against Alan Rubio and Kento Yamada, but the Pokes prevailed with a 7-6 (9) triumph for the Cowboys to move in front, 1-0.
It was a dogfight across the board in singles action. Court three was the first to finish with Henrik Korsgaard losing to Juan Pablo Mazzuchi 6-2, 6-1, to even the team score at 1-1. The Knights kept the momentum on their side with Trey Hilderbrand's 6-3, 6-4 win over Dominik Kellovsky.
