The Basics
The Oklahoma State football team (3-1 overall; 0-1 Big 12) returns to Boone Pickens Stadium to host No. 24/22 Kansas State (3-0 overall; 0-0 Big 12) at 6 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 28. Each of the past six games played between OSU and Kansas State in Stillwater have been one-possession games, with the Cowboys finding a way to win five of those thrillers.

1984 Reunion
To celebrate the 35th anniversary of Oklahoma State's first 10-win team, OSU welcomes members of the 1984 squad back to Stillwater for this week's game. Coached by Pat Jones, the Cowboys of 1984 went 10-2, won the Gator Bowl and finished the season ranked No. 7 in the Associated Press poll. Standout performers from that team included a pair of All-America selections in defensive end Leslie O'Neal and safety Rod Brown, plus an eventual All-American in safety Mark Moore.

Oklahoma State is receiving votes in both the Associated Press Poll and the Amway USA Today Coaches Poll. Although the Cowboys are not ranked, they have reached the top 15 of the AP poll at some point in 10 of the past 11 seasons. OSU has also seen a top 10 ranking in the AP poll at some point in eight of the past 11 seasons. Kansas State is ranked No. 24 in the AP poll and No. 22 in the coaches poll.

The Series
Saturday's game marks the 66th meeting between Oklahoma State and Kansas State. OSU holds a 39-26 all-time advantage in the series, including a 21-10 edge on games played in Stillwater. The Cowboys have won six of the past 10 meetings in the series, as well as five of the past six matchups in Stillwater. Coach Mike Gundy is 6-5 in his career against K-State, while KSU coach Chris Klieman is facing the Cowboys for the first time in his career.

Oklahoma State is 3-1 after dropping its Big 12 opener to No. 12 Texas in Austin last week, 36-30. The Cowboys rank No. 11 nationally in total offense, No. 10 in rushing offense, No. 12 in scoring offense and No. 6 in third down conversion percentage. OSU has two of the most explosive offensive players in the nation: running back Chuba Hubbard and wide receiver Tylan Wallace.
