ST. THOMAS, Virgin Islands — Oklahoma State's women's basketball team suffered its second loss of the season on Friday with a 69-48 setback at the hands of No. 8 Louisville during the second day of action at the Paradise Jam.
The Cowgirls fell to 5-2 on the year, while the Cardinals improved to 7-0.
OSU never got on track offensively, shooting just 25 percent from the floor, while Louisville hit at a 47.5 percent clip in the contest.
The Cowgirls were able to stay in the contest via their defense after forcing 21 turnovers, but could not overcome the Cardinals' shooting, which included a 9-of-14 effort from beyond the 3-point line.
OSU was within a possession for the majority of the first quarter before Louisville closed with the final four points of the period to lead, 19-13.
The Cardinals pushed the margin to 15 before junior Natasha Mack knocked down a trey to end the half and cut the deficit to 37-25. at the break.
Halfway through the third, Louisville pushed the lead to 20 and the Cowgirls would never get closer than 16 the rest of the way.
Dana Evans led all scorers with 28 points on a 10-of-15 shooting performance, including 6-of-9 from deep, while junior Vivian Gray led the Cowgirls with 18 points and three steals.
Mack added seven points, eight rebounds and three blocks.
The Cowgirls will close out the event tomorrow at noon (CST) against Ut Arlington.
