Cowboys Take Down Tigers in Exhibition Matchup

STILLWATER—The Oklahoma State men's basketball team defeated Ouachita Baptist, 80-59, in its lone exhibition game of the season Saturday at Gallagher-Iba Arena.
Isaac Likekele led all scorers with 18 points in first appearance in an OSU uniform. The freshman played 28 minutes and went 6-for-10 from the field.
Cameron McGriff and Lindy Waters, III also led the way for OSU. McGriff earned a double-double with 15 points and 10 rebounds. Waters III nearly matched the feat, scoring 15 points and grabbing nine rebounds. The pair also added six assists to the Cowboys' stat line.
The Cowboys took an early 11-0 lead, capitalizing on the Tigers' 0-for-10 start from the field. Ouachita Baptist and OSU traded small runs for the rest of the half and the Cowboys took a 39-24 lead into the locker room.
OSU didn't take its foot off the throttle in the second half, extending its lead with four streaks where it scored at least four unanswered points.
The Cowboys dominated in transition, scoring 27 fast-break points while only giving up 11 fast-break points.
OSU also outrebounded Ouachita Baptist 42-31 and collected 30 of its rebound on the defensive glass.
Maurice Calloo, Duncan Demuth, Luke Major, Kentrevious Jones and Yor Anei all saw their first action as Cowboys. They combined for 24 points with 12 of those points coming from Calloo.
The Cowboys open the season at 3 p.m. on Saturday against Charlotte in North Carolina. OSU returns to Gallgher-Iba Arena for its home opener at 7 p.m. on Nov. 14 when it hosts UTSA. Tickets for the first home matchup can be bought at okstate.com/tickets.
