PALM SPRINGS, Calif. ---- Oklahoma State Softball dropped a pair of games Friday at the Mary Nutter Classic. The Cowgirls fell to No. 21 California, 9-1, in five innings and lost to San Diego State, 17-5, in six innings.Â

Oklahoma State slipped to 7-7 on the year. Five of the Cowgirls losses this year have come at the hands of nationally ranked opponents.Â
Â
"We just have to let it go," head coach Kenny Gajewski said. "We've got to get back here tomorrow and finish this thing strong. There's not much you can say. There are days like this in our game. We've got to grow and regroup as a team. I'm looking forward to seeing how we respond tomorrow."
Â
In the first game of the day, Oklahoma State ran into its fifth ranked opponent of the year in California. The Golden Bears scored one run in the first four innings to jump out to an early 4-0 lead.
