Cowboys Crack Top 10 in National Polls
October 25, 2015 | Cowboy Football
STILLWATER – The Oklahoma State football team earned its first top-10 ranking of the season on Sunday, as the Cowboys were slotted at No. 10 in the latest USA Today Coaches poll and No. 12 in the Associated Press poll.
The top-10 selection is Oklahoma State's first since being selected as the No. 6 team in the nation on Dec. 1, 2013. Under head coach Mike Gundy, the Cowboys have now been ranked in the top ten for a total of 25 separate weeks.
With a 58-10 victory over Kansas on Saturday, Oklahoma State moved to 7-0 on the season, a mark that has been achieved only four times in program history. The Cowboys currently stand as one of 12 remaining undefeated teams in the country.
Oklahoma State's rise through the polls this season began after debuting at No. 25 on Sept. 13, an honor that sparked a current seven-week stretch as a nationally-ranked team.
The Cowboys are joined in the rankings by three other Big 12 teams, including Baylor (No. 2/2), TCU (No. 3/5) and Oklahoma (No. 13/14).
OSU will take its top-10 ranking to Lubbock, Texas, on Saturday, Oct. 31, as the Cowboys hit the road to take on Texas Tech.
