Cowboys Prepare For ITA Central Regional

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Oklahoma State's men's tennis team will head to the University of Arkansas this week for the ITA Central Regional in Fayetteville, Arkansas, at the George M. Billingsley Tennis Center on Oct. 15-19.
The tournament will begin on Thursday at 9 a.m. and feature 128 athletes from 17 different teams, with all matches being played at the Billingsley Tennis Center.
Representing Oklahoma State at the Regional is Julian Cash, Lukas Finzelberg, Lucas Gerch, Arjun Kadhe, Jurence Mendoza, Tristan Meraut and Nathan Roper.
The Cowboys are coming off impressive showings at their previous tournaments in the fall season, as All-American tandem Cash/Kadhe took the back draw title at the ITA All-American Championships in Tulsa, Oklahoma, this past weekend. The No. 14-ranked tandem won four-consecutive matches in the back draw, including a victory over No. 5 Skander Mansouri/Christian Seraphim of Wake Forest.
At the Silverado Invitational, Cowboys Mendoza and Meraut were crowned champions of their respective flights by finishing tournament play undefeated. Pokes Finzelberg and Roper helped Oklahoma State bring home the team championship by contributing to the team's 12 total wins throughout the tournament.
This will be the first time competing in the ITA Central Regional for Finzelberg, Mendoza and Meraut.
Last year, Roper lost in the Round of 64, No. 74 Gerch fell in the Round of 32 and No. 66 Kadhe made a Sweet 16 appearance in the Regional.
Live scoring will be available at www.arkansasrazorbacks.com on Saturday for the semifinals and will continue until the conclusion of the tournament.
