Cowgirls Tied For Fourth In New Orleans

NEW ORLEANS - Oklahoma State's women's golf team wrapped up the first day of action tied for fourth place at the Sugar Bowl Intercollegiate on Monday at English Turn Golf and Country Club.
The Cowgirls posted a 1-over-par total of 577 to finish the day knotted with Alabama at the par-72, 6,140-yard layout. OSU opened with a 288 during its first round before finishing the day with a 289 tally. UCLA tallied a 14-under total of 562 to hold a four-shot lead over Southern California.
Denver's Tonje Daffinrud and UCLA's Erynne Lee shared the first-day lead at 7-under 137, standing three shots clear of the field.
Cowgirl senior Jayde Panos was one of three players to come in at 4-under 140 after firing rounds of 71 and 69.
Sophomore Julie Yang posted scores of 70 and 75 for a 145 total, tying her for 24th place.
Senior Amy Ruengmateekhun carded a pair of 73s to finish at 146 and tied for 32nd place.
Freshman Isabella Deilert't 147 total came courtesy of a 75 and 72, tying her for 37th place.
Senior Lauren Falley signed for a 74 and a 78 to get in at 152 and tied for 64th place.
The Cowgirls will begin their final round tomorrow at 8 a.m. and will be grouped with Alabama and Clemson.
