Cowgirls Finish Third At McNamara Invite

BROKEN ARROW, Okla. - Oklahoma State's women's golf team closed with a 289 during the final round at the Dale McNamara Invitational on Tuesday to finish in third place at Golf Club of Oklahoma.
The Cowgirls posted a 54-hole total of 875, 11-over, to come in six shots behind Florida's 869 total for second place. Arizona State posted an 866 total for a three-shot victory at the par-72, 6,282-yard layout.
The Gators did produce the event's individual medalist in Isabelle Lendl, who closed with a 72 to finish at 6-under 210 and three shots clear of the field.
A pair of Cowgirls finished a shot out of second place and tied for third with senior Kelsey Vines and junior Jayde Panos each finishing at 214.
The event's runner-up a year ago, Panos followed back-to-back 70s with a closing 74 on Tuesday to get to her 2-under score.
Vines closed with a 71 after posting scores of 70 and 73 on Monday on her way to her 214 total.
Hillary Wood fired the squad's low round of the day with a 2-under 70, which included birdies on two of her final three holes, to finish in the top 20. The senior finished with a 221 total to tie for 18th place.
Junior Amy Ruengmateekhun carded her low round of the event with a 74 to finish tied for 47th place at 231, while classmate Josephine Janson's 78 tied her for 50th place at 232.
The Cowgirls will be back in action on Oct. 1 when they travel to Chicago for the Windy City Invitational.
