TARZANA, Calif. - Oklahoma State's women's golf team posted a 36-hole total of 599 on Monday at the Bruin Wave Invitational to stand alone in second place at El Caballero Country Club.
The Cowgirls opened with a 293 before posting a 306 during their afternoon round. Their 23-over score put them 11 shots behind Pepperdine for the top spot at the par-72, 6,131-yard layout. UCLA finished the day four shots off the pace of OSU and in third place.
San Diego State's Christine Wong took a two-stroke lead through two rounds after posting rounds of 68 and 73 for a 141 total.
Jayde Panos was one of two Cowgirls to crack the top 10 in the individual standings. The sophomore fired an opening 68 that saw her bogey three of her first four holes before reeling off seven birdies over a 10-hole stretch. Panos posted a 78 during her second round for a 2-over 146 total to stand in fourth place.
Junior Kelsey Vines followed an opening 71 with an 80 to stand at 151 and tied for ninth place.
Sophomore Josephine Janson carded rounds of 79 and 74 to finish at 153 and tied for 15th, while classmate Amy Ruengmateekhun came in a stroke back at 154 after signing for rounds of 75 and 79, tying her for 19th.
Senior Jocelyn Alford's rounds of 81 and 75 tied her for 34th place at 156.
The Cowgirls will close out the event tomorrow at 8:40 a.m. (PST) and will be grouped with Pepperdine and UCLA.
