Cowgirls Hang On To Defeat Kansas 66-63

LAWRENCE, Kan. (OSU Athletics) -- Oklahoma State's women's basketball team picked up a 66-63 win at Kansas in its road finale on Wednesday night in front of 2,164 fans inside Allen Fieldhouse.
With the win, OSU improved to 15-11 overall and 7-10 in Big 12 play. The Jayhawks fell to 18-11 and 7-10.
The two squads battled back and forth in the first half with nine ties and 10 lead changes taking place through the first 20 minutes. For the game, there were 22 lead changes and 12 ties.
Trailing by two, the Cowgirls used a 7-0 spurt to jump in front 29-24 before the Jayhawks answered with six points in a row to move back in front and continue the seesaw scoring.
With OSU leading by one, sophomore Tiffany Bias hit a runner in the lane with six seconds left in the half to give the Cowgirls a 35-32 lead at the break. The Andover, Kansas native scored 10 points and dished out five assists in the half.
After OSU pushed the lead to five early in the second half, Kansas used a 16-2 run to move back in front 50-41. The Cowgirls followed with 12 consecutive points to regain the lead with just under eight minutes to go.
With OSU leading 57-56, Kansas scored the game's next three points to retake the lead with less than three minutes remaining. Bias hit a jumper with 1:52 left to put OSU back in front before the Jayhawks got a jumper as the shot clock expired to regain the lead at 61-60 with 1:13 left on the clock.
Cowgirl freshman Liz Donohoe put OSU back up on a layup with 55 seconds left before KU answered with a pair of free throws 20 seconds later.
Bias cashed in a pair of free throws with 26 seconds left to give OSU a 64-63 lead before hitting two more free throws with nine seconds left.
KU's desperation three at the buzzer came up short to give the Cowgirls their second win in a row.
Bias finished with a career-high 26 points and eight assists. Donohoe added 13 points for OSU.
Aishah Sutherland led the Jayhawks with 23 points, 17 of which came in the second half.
The Cowgirlswill close out their regular season on Saturday at 7 p.m. in Stillwater against Missouri.
