Cowgirls Finish Fifth At Windy City Collegiate

GOLF, Ill. - Oklahoma State's women's golf team posted a 299 during the final round of play at the Windy City Collegiate Championship on Tuesday to finish tied for fifth place at Glen View Club.
The Cowgirls' 11-over score gave them a 54-hole total of 27-over 891 and knotted them with Iowa State. The two schools came in six shots out of fourth place, finishing behind UC Davis, and 12 shots behind tournament champion Arizona. The Wildcats carded an 879 total en route to a four-shot victory over Washington at the par-72, 6,333-yard layout.
TCU's April McCoy fired a 69 during her third round to move from a tie for seventh into the top spot on the leaderboard. She finished at 2-under 214 to come in one shot clear of the field.
Josephine Janson was one of three Cowgirls to post a 74 during her closing round. The junior finished the event at 221, 5-over par, and tied for 14th place.
Janson was joined in the top 20 by senior Kelsey Vines and junior Jayde Panos. Vines closed with a 74 to finish at 222 and tied for 17th place, while Panos also posted a 2-over score to come in with a 223 total and tied for 20th.
Senior Hillary Wood finished with a 77 for a 230 total to tie for 43rd place, while sophomore Courtney Ferguson's third-round 81 gave her a 233 total and tied her for 60th.
The Cowgirls will be back in action on Oct. 19 when they travel to Palo Alto, Calif., to take part in the Stanford Intercollegiate.
