STILLWATER, Okla. - Oklahoma State's Justin Blackmon is a finalist for the 2011 Biletnikoff Award presented to the nation's most outstanding receiver, it was announced today. Blackmon won the award as a sophomore in 2010.
The other two finalists for this year's Biletnikoff are Oklahoma's Ryan Broyles and USC's Robert Woods.
Through 11 games this season, Blackmon's 103 receptions, 1,241 receiving yards and 15 touchdown receptions represent the highest totals in each category among the three finalists. He leads the nation in touchdown catches.
With 103 receptions this season, Blackmon has now accounted for two of the three 100-reception seasons in Oklahoma State history (he had 111 receptions a year ago). Despite only being a two-year starter for the Cowboys, Blackmon's 234 career receptions place him second on OSU's all-time list.
He looks to join former Texas Tech standout Michael Crabtree in becoming only the second player to win the award more than once.
As a Biletnikoff finalist, Blackmon has earned an invitation to The Home Depot College Football Awards Show on Dec. 8. The show airs at 8 p.m. CT on ESPN and the Biletnikoff is one of the awards that will be presented live that night.
