Cowboys Finish 11th In Las Vegas

LAS VEGAS - Oklahoma State's men's golf team closed with a 309 during the third round on Sunday at the Southern Highlands Collegiate Masters to finish in 11th place at Southern Highlands Golf Club.
OSU finished the event with a 68-over total of 932 and four shots behind Georgia Tech and Tennessee. Tournament host UNLV and UCLA tied for top honors at 899, 35-over, with Southern California finishing nine shots back.
Arizona State's Jesper Kennegard finished one shot ahead of the field after posting a 76 during his third round for a 219.
Cowboy senior Trent Whitekiller moved up 11 spots into a tie for 27th place during his final round. The Sallisaw, Okla., native posted a 74 for a 230 total.
Sophomore Morgan Hoffmann and junior Kevin Tway were among the players tied for 48th place at 236, 21-over. Hoffmann finished with a 76, while Tway wrapped up the event with a 79.
Sophomore Peter Uihlein tied for 57th place after a round of 80 gave him a 239 score.
Redshirt freshman Sean Einhaus also dropped into a tie for 57th place after a closing 86.
The Cowboys will be back in action on March 26 at the Linger Longer Invitational.
