Cowboys Move Into Fourth Place In Hawaii

KOHALA COAST, Hawaii - Oklahoma State's men's golf team moved up four spots during the second round of play on Thursday at the Mauna Lani Invitational at Mauna Lani's North Course to stand in fourth place.
After an 11-over-par 299 left the Cowboys in eighth place through the first round, OSU rebounded with a 3-under 285 to move up the leaderboard. The Cowboys will enter their final round at 584 and three shots behind Oregon for third place. OSU is just six shots behind first-place Washington and four strokes behind Stanford for second place.
Junior Kevin Tway surged to the individual lead for the Cowboys, using a 68 during his second round to get to 4-under 140. The Edmond, Okla., native is one shot ahead of Washington's Nick Taylor.
Senior Trent Whitekiller will begin his final round in the top 10 as well. The Sallisaw, Okla., native carded a 1-under 71 to finish tied for eighth at 145.
Redshirt freshman Sean Einhaus also broke par during Round Two with a 71 of his own to move into a tie for 26th place at 148, 4-over.
Sophomore Morgan Hoffmann is tied for 50th place after posting his second-straight 76 for a 152 total, while sophomore Peter Uihlein's 75 moved him into a tie for 68th place at 155.
The Cowboys will begin their final round at the par-72, 6,913-yard layout at 7:30 a.m. (HST) and will be grouped with Washington, Oregon and Stanford.
