Cowgirls Fall at Eighth-Ranked Duke, 77-68

Andrea Riley, the Big 12's leading scorer last season, paced Oklahoma State with 29 points and eight assists. Riley made 6 of 12 shots in the first half as the Cowgirls went into the break with a 7-0 run. But, she was just 3-of-16 after halftime. Senior Shaunte' Smith scored 14 points and grabbed 10 rebounds while Tegan Cunningham chipped in 10 points for the Cowgirls.
With Oklahoma State leading 44-35 at halftime, the Blue Devils ripped off a 20-0 run early in the second half to seize control of the game. Chante Black, who scored 28 points and grabbed 10 rebounds for Duke, contributed 10 points, two blocked shots and a behind-the-back assist during the spurt.
The Cowgirls were outrebounded 57-42 by Duke and gave up 26 offensive boards to the Blue Devils, leading to 29 second-chance points. OSU committed just 12 turnovers, but forced just 11 by Duke.
Oklahoma State will return to action on Thursday, Nov. 18, as the Cowgirls host McNeese State at 7 p.m. inside Gallagher-Iba Arena.
