Oklahoma State Beats Texas-Pan American 17-7

STILLWATER, Okla. - Oklahoma State (25-11) continued to pound the ball against Texas-Pan American (19-23) as they cruised to a 17-7 run-rule victory.
Josh Fields and Mario Matulich each banged their fifth homeruns of the season, while John Urick slammed his sixth. Jason Jaramillo went 4-5 and Jose Virgil collected three hits.
Cody King pitched 3.2 innings of relief to pick up the victory and improve his record 2-0, while Travis Parker took the loss for the Broncs and fall to 3-3.
The Broncs chased Cowboy starter Justin Ottman with six first inning runs. The Cowboys responded with five of their own in the bottom of the inning.
Fields gave the Pokes the lead in the second with a two-run homer that scored Virgil.
Matulich added a three-run shot in the third for OSU as part of a five run third inning.
Urick gave the Cowboys a 10 run cushion in the bottom of the sixth by hammering a homerun over the center field fence.
The Cowboys return to conference action this weekend when they take on Texas A&M in College Station, Texas. Scott Baker is slated to take the mound for the Pokes on Friday with the first pitch set for 7 p.m.
