WACO, Texas - Oklahoma State's softball team completed the sweep of Baylor on Sunday, shutting out the Bears 4-0 before 382 fans at Getterman Stadium. The Cowgirls are now a perfect 4-0 in conference play and have won 12 straight.
On the mound Lauren Bay silenced the Lady Bears once again, holding a team that entered the weekend batting .302 to two hits. The lefty fanned 15 batters and did not issue a single walk en route to her second consecutive shutout of Baylor.
The Cowgirls jumped out to a quick lead and never looked back, posting three runs in the top of the first on a Ryan Realmuto home run. With one out Calli Behmer singled and moved to second when Megan Carey drew the walk. Realmuto then followed with a long ball to right center to give OSU the 3-0 lead.
The score remained unchanged until the top of the fifth when Alliya Anderson homered to left center for the final margin.
Oklahoma State (24-6, 4-0) returns to action on Wednesday when Tulsa comes to town for the first of two meetings this year. The contest is scheduled for a 6 p.m. start.
