The Cowgirls won two out of three doubles matches to claim the team point. At the No. 1 slot, the team of senior Linda Faltynkova and junior Katya Kolodynska defeated Dominique Reynolds and Leeza Klempner, 8-4.
The Cougars (2-4) evened things up when Hadley Macfarlane and Nicole Schneider defeated seniors Erin Pauchnik and Gorana Marsic at the No. 2 position, 8-3.
The Cowgirls responded by claiming the doubles point with a win by senior Kate Vasylyeva and freshman Ewa Radzikowska at the No. 3 position, 8-6, over Rebecca Pike and Hanni Whittenbecker.
Oklahoma State went on to win four of the six singles matches. At the No. 1 singles position, Faltynkova came from behind to defeat Reynolds, (6-7), 6-1, 6-2.
Brigham Young evened the singles scoring at one when Klempner defeated Vasylyeva at the No. 2 position, 6-4, 6-3.
Kolodynska responded by dropping Pike in the No. 3 position, (4-6), 6-4, 7-6. Radzikowska followed suit by defeating Schneider at the No. 4 position, 6-4, 6-1.
The Cougars tallied a second singles point when Macfarlane held on to defeat freshman Zana Masnic, 6-3, (6-7), 10-8.
Closing things out for the Cowgirls was sophomore Ines Furtmayr who dominated Whittenbecker at the No. 6 position, 6-3, 6-0, giving the Cowgirls the 5-2 overall win.
Oklahoma State will return home to prepare for the University of Texas on February 22 in Austin, Texas. Match time is set for 2:00 p.m. at the Penick-Allison Tennis Center.
