OSU Coach Les Miles
On the win
"It was something that had to happen for this football team to progress and get ready for the Big 12 conference. We had to have another win at home. It evens the score. We have Missouri coming in, and it was what we needed to have happen. The defense played another fine football game. Special teams helped a ton, and the offense finally came and contributed. We're on track from that vantage point. We have to eliminate some of the penalties and the sloppy play early."
On the Cowboys' confidence level
"I think that they are a capable team, and they had a productive day. Anytime you're producing yards and points, it's going to help your confidence. Our offense is potentially very productive, and I think that they see glimpses of that now and can go on from here."
On Rashaun Woods
"He's a real competitor. Early on in the game, we'd liked to have gotten him the ball some more. They did a great job of taking it away, and it opened up the rush. We really like him. We want to give him the ball a lot."
On the defense
"Marcus Jones' had an interception and good, solid overall play. He is the style of player that the defense is used to seeing. He's unheralded and plays hard. I think that LaWaylon Brown and Kevin Williams just gave their offense fits. I think Terrence Robinson and Dwayne Levels are both playing good football."
Oklahoma State Players
T.D. Bryant
On Game
"I thought our offense played well. Our offensive line played very well. They gave Aso the chance to throw the ball down field. Tatum ran the ball well and our defense has been playing like they have been playing all year."
On punt return
"The return was set up by the special teams that blocked the punt. I just had a chance to return it and I hit the seam. I just ran it. I should have scored.
On Aso Pogi
"Aso sat in the pocket more this week. He gave us time to run our routes and deliver us the ball. The offensive line held the line more so Aso had more time to throw. "
Aso Pogi
On Rashaun Woods
" Rashaun is playing well. He is a perfectionist and wants to get after it every Saturday. He is off to a good start. I am happy for him, but more so, I am happy for the Oklahoma State football team to get this "W" today."
On Offense
"We wanted to complement each other tonight. We did a great job of executing the offense. We got off to a slow start but came back and did well. There is alot of room for improvement."
Dwayne Levels
On defense
"I think we did a great job not letting them get into a rhythm. We played a solid game, not letting them establish themselves on the ground or in the air."
On the shutout
"That is something we strive to do every game. That is something we expect to do."
On quarterback Craig Nall
"We did a great job hitting him. We disrupted his receivers. We got him off and made him think on the field."
Oklahoma State Lockerroom
John Lewis
On Winning
"We just came out and tried to execute a game plan and we did, we came out and ran good plays."
On Playing Northwestern State
"We knew they were a good football team and that they would be coming into this game with some confidence."
Michael Cooper
On the shutout
"In the locker room before the game we all made a commitment that we were going to put a group effort on the board, and that's what we did. everybody went out and gave it their all, and everything worked out like we planned it to."
On the Outlook
"This gives us a great outlook on things, a very positive outlook on the season and it keeps everyone's head up. It feels good when we win, so if we improve week by week we can continue to win."
Northwestern State Head Coach Steve Roberts
On his offense
"We were not able to sustain anything. We would get a key first down, but we could not get another one. We did not make the big plays. We never made Craig (Nall) feel comfortable in the pocket. I think if we could have made him feel comfortable that we could have made some big plays like we did last week. We had too many mistakes and when you play teams like this back to back, that is one of the things that you worry about."
On Special Teams
"They had a lot of speed. We did play real well in that area. Our kickoff coverage was good and our punt coverage was good all but one time. We punted the ball real well, but we got in a situation late where you do not know if you should punt the ball away. We had a bad snap and they got the block. Our defense went out there and held them and did their job."
On the Oklahoma State coverage in the secondary
"Their secondary did a great job. You have to give Coach Bill Clay a lot of credit. They do a tremendous job and we knew that coming in. We thought we had some things that might give us more of an opportunity, but we were unable to get that really going."
Northwestern State Player Quotes
Kurt Rodriguez
On Defensive Stands
"Their defense played a great game, I mean you can't get better than a shut-out. Our defense had a couple break downs. OSU had good schemes against us, ran good plays and isolated No. 82 well."
On OSU Players
"Rashaun Woods is a great player as far as catching the ball and turning up field. Pogi did a great job throwing the ball and Bell did well cutting up field whenever his holes were filled."
Craig Nall
On Getting Offense Going
"Penalties hurt us, but I think they (OSU) just flat out outplayed us. We knew it was going to be a though test coming into this but I don't think we prepared ourselves for this kind of fight."
OSU Compared to TCU
"Our offensive line played about as good last week, and that's were OSU attacked us is that they overpowered our line. Hats off to them, they were a big line and we didn't make the plays we needed to."
