Cowboy Golf Finishes Tied For Eighth

PUERTO VALLARTA, Mex. -
Oklahoma State's golf team finished in a tie for eighth place after shooting a final-round score of 298 on Sunday at the U.S. Collegiate Golf Championship.
The Cowboys concluded play with a three-round total of 881, 17-over-par, tying them with Florida for the eighth slot. Georgia ran away with the team total, shooting 29-under-par to outdistance the field by 33 strokes.
Individually, OSU was led by Anders Hultman, who finished tied for 13th after shooting a 76 during his final round. The junior turned in a one-over-par total of 217 for the weekend.
Sophomore Boyd Summerhays fired his first sub-par round of the tournament on Sunday to continue his ascent up the leaderboard with a final-round 70 to finish in a tie for 22nd at four-over-par.
Freshmen Matt McQuillan and Par Nilsson carded four-over scores of 76 to finish the tournament in ties for 34th and 42nd, respectively.
Sophomore J.C. DeLeon rounded out the Cowboy lineup with a 77 on Sunday to finish tied for 45th with a three-day total of 227.
The Cowboys will return to action on April 13-14 at the ASU Thunderbird/SAVANE Invitational in Tempe, Arizona.
