Cowboys Second After Day One In Tulsa

TULSA, Okla. – Oklahoma State's men's golf team wrapped up the first day of action at The Clerico in second place at historic Southern Hills Country Club.
The Cowboys were one of six teams in the field to complete both rounds at the par-70, 7,172-yard layout. Play was called for the day due to darkness.
OSU posted an opening round of 282 before bouncing back with a 4-under 276 to stand at 2-under 558. Auburn was a stroke clear of the Cowboys with its 557 total.
Junior Gaven Lane wrapped up the day in second place with his 4-under total of 136. Lane fired an opening 66 before posting a 70 during the afternoon round. During his opening round, Lane bogeyed the second before moving under par with birdies at the fifth and sixth. He would birdie the ninth to turn in 2-under 33.
Lane would birdie the 13th before carding a bogey at the 14th hole to move back to 2-under par for the day. He would finish his day in impressive fashion with birdies at the 17th and 18th to get to his 4-under total.
After opening with a 75, junior Preston Stout climbed 32 spots during the afternoon after firing a 66 of his own to finish the day tied for seventh place at 141.
Sophomore Filip Fahlberg-Johnsson carded rounds of 73 and 69 to finish at 142 and tied for 11th place.
Juniors Eric Lee and Ethan Fang were among the group tied for 18th place at 143. Lee posted rounds of 71 and 72, while Fang signed for scores of 72 and 71.
