Nilsson in Seventh at Red River Classic

DALLAS, Texas -- Par Nilsson, playing in his second collegiate golf tournament, is seventh heading into the final round of the Red River Classic.
Nilsson carded a 4-under-par round of 68 to open the tournament and came back in the afternoon with a 70, putting him at 6-under through two rounds, four strokes behind Arkansas' Craig Lile and just two strokes out of second place.
Nilsson's performance led OSU into 10th place in the team standings, 12 strokes behind Southern California and just four strokes out of fifth place. Nilsson's junior teammate and Swedish countryman, Anders Hultman, joins Nilsson in the top 20 heading into the final round, Hultman is at 2-under-par and tied for 19th place.
Freshman Matt McQuillan is 40th at 1-over-par, sophomore Boyd Summerhays and senior Peter Davidson are tied for 71st at 7-over. Competing as an individual, J.C. DeLeon is tied for 33rd at even par.
The tournament, played at the Dallas Athletic Club concludes Tuesday with a single round.
