NORMAN, Okla. – Oklahoma State maintained its winning ways Friday night with a 2-1 win over Bedlam-rival Oklahoma in front of 2,064 fans at the OU Soccer Complex.

Freshman Kim Rodriguez and sophomore Charmé Morgan were the goal scorers for the Cowgirls, who improved to 3-0-0 on the season. OSU snapped a four-game losing streak against the Sooners (0-2-1), knocking off OU for the first time since 2014 and improving to 21-8-3 all time against its rival.

Rodriguez scored her first-career goal in the 40th minute off a Jaci Jones corner kick to give the Cowgirls a 1-0 lead. After Jones sent the ball into the box, Rodriguez slipped in behind the defense and volleyed in the goal from five yards away, marking the third goal this season OSU has scored off a corner kick.

OSU took the 1-0 lead into intermission and doubled its lead just over 10 minutes into the second half when Morgan connected on a header to the near post following an Anna Beffer cross into the box. The goal was Morgan's second of the season.

The Sooners cut into the OSU lead in the 64^th minute when forward Kyle Escobedo beat the defense and finished with a far-post shot from 12-yards out.

Leading 2-1, OSU's defense held strong down the stretch to keep the home team from recording the equalizer.

OSU finished with an 11-10 advantage in shots in the match, with OU collecting seven of its shots in the final half, while the Cowgirls also owned a 7-3 edge on corner kicks.

Michela Ongaro and Tanya de Souza once again split time in goal for the Cowgirls, with Ongaro playing the first half and recording OSU's lone save in the match.

OSU returns to action Sunday when it hosts Creighton at the Cowgirl Soccer Complex in a match scheduled for a noon kickoff.
