Cowgirl Soccer All-Time Team: Forward
July 06, 2015 | Cowgirl Soccer
Kasey Langdon, 2006-09
The Oklahoma State Cowgirl soccer program will mark its 20th season in 2015. As we celebrate two decades of milestones, OSU head coach Colin Carmichael and assistant coach Karen Hancock, both of whom have been with the program since its inception and built it into a national power, collaborated on a list of the top players in Cowgirl soccer history. We're revealing the top 11 daily on www.okstate.com, and today we highlight the first of three Cowgirl forwards.
Â
Kasey Langdon – Wylie, Texas (2006-09)
Langdon was one of the most prolific scorers in Cowgirl history and was adept as both a goal scorer and creater, and she finished her career with 77 points, which ranks fifth all time in program history. Her 25 goals are also the fifth-most all time, while she is second on OSU's all-time list with 27 career assists. Of her 25 goals, 12 were game winners.
Â
A three-time All-Central Region performer and two-time All-Big 12 Conference selection, which included first-team honors on each team as a junior, Langdon played in 86 career games and led OSU to four NCAA Tournament berths and a pair of conference championships. In 2008, she recorded 11 goals and 14 assists, and her 36 points was the second-most in a single season in Cowgirl history (as were her 14 assists).
Â
Colin Carmichael on Kasey Langdon: "Kasey was probably the best 1 v. 1 dribbler we've had at OSU. She was deceptively fast — didn't always look it, but she had the ability to get behind people. She was very good off the dribble, very tricky and scored a ton of goals."
Â
Here's video of a couple of Langdon's goals during her senior season in 2009, the first against Kansas and the second vs. Nebraska at the Big 12 Championship.
