June 30, 2015 | Cowgirl Soccer
Bridget Miller, 2006-09
The Oklahoma State Cowgirl soccer program will mark its 20th season in 2015. As we celebrate two decades of milestones, OSU head coach Colin Carmichael and assistant coach Karen Hancock, both of whom have been with the program since its inception and built it into a national power, collaborated on a list of the top players in Cowgirl soccer history. We'll reveal the top 11 daily on www.okstate.com over the next two weeks, and today we highlight the final of our four Cowgirl defenders.
Â
Bridget Miller – Wylie, Texas (2006-09)
Miller's versatility enabled her to play numerous positions, but it's defender where she shined brightest. At end the of her career in 2005, she held the OSU record for most games played and started with 91. She finished her career with three goals, two of those games winners, to go along with five assists.
Â
A team captain during her junior and senior seasons, Miller helped lead the Cowgirls to the first Big 12 regular season championship in school history (2008) and played on four-straight NCAA Tournament teams, each of which advanced to the tourney's second round. She was a two-time All-Central Region performer.
Â
Colin Carmichael on Bridget Miller: "Bridget was a terrific all-around player. You could play Bridget at wide back, center back, center mid, forward, it didn't matter — she was very versatile. A great athlete with a great engine — she could run all day long and was one of the fittest kids we've ever had."
Here are Miller's two goals during her senior season in 2009, the first against Tulsa and the second vs. Utah.
