Sean Maguire has held a full-time communications role with Oklahoma State Football since 2013.
As Director of Football Communications, he manages all media requests for OSU Football's coaches, staff and student-athletes. He also maintains the program's statistics, history, records and biographical information and works closely with the OSU creative team to promote the program. In addition to his duties with the football program, he also oversees a graduate assistant who serves as the primary communications contact for Oklahoma State Wrestling.
Maguire was hired as an Assistant Director of Communications in 2013 and served as the secondary media contact for OSU Football until he was promoted to Director of Football Communications in 2020.
Highlights from his tenure include leading a successful campaign for running back Ollie Gordon II to win the 2023 Doak Walker Award and successfully nominating the 1945 Oklahoma A&M football team to be retroactively named national champions by the American Football Coaches Association in 2016. He was also selected by a panel of Big 12 staff members to serve on the 2025 Big 12 Football Advisory Group.
Prior to being hired in a full-time role with Oklahoma State, Maguire worked as the Director of Communications and Marketing for the Oklahoma City All Sports Association in 2013, served as an OSU communications graduate assistant from 2010-12, worked as an OSU communications student assistant from 2007-2010, served as an OKC All Sports Association intern from 2008-09 and wrote for The Daily O'Collegian in 2007. He has also served as an assistant for statistics and production for ESPN, CBS, Turner Sports and Fox Sports at the college and professional level, and he volunteered with Solas Project in Dublin, Ireland, for four months in 2012.
During his career, he has assisted in communications with all of OSU's varsity sports teams.
An Oklahoma City native, Maguire graduated from Oklahoma State in 2010 with a bachelor's degree in sports media/public relations with minors in marketing and advertising. He and his wife, Stephanie, have two daughters.
