May 26, 2023 | Cowgirl Golf
STILLWATER – Oklahoma State women's golfer Maddison Hinson-Tolchard was named a First Team All-American by the Women's Golf Coaches Association, it was announced Friday.
Hinson-Tolchard is now a two-time All-American after earning Second Team honors in 2022 and is Oklahoma State's 15th First Team selection. She is the program's second First Team All-American under head coach Greg Robertson, joining Maja Stark, who did so in 2021.
The Perth, Australia native is Oklahoma State's 12th golfer to be named an All-American at least twice and the first since Kelsey Vines earned the honor in 2012 and 2013.
After winning the Big 12 Player of the Year award in 2022, Hinson-Tolchard was even better throughout her junior campaign, as she was the individual medalist at the Big 12 Championship to go along with seven top-10 finishes in just 11 tournaments played.
At the NCAA Championship, Hinson-Tolchard posted the program's best national finish in 13 years with a fourth-place outing. Her opening round 66 is the lowest round ever shot by a Cowgirl at nationals and her 8-under weekend total is third-best in program history at the event.
With a stroke average of 71.12, Hinson-Tolchard ranked third in program history for a single season. She has shot the most career par-or-better rounds in program history with 54 and ends her junior campaign having played 60 consecutive rounds in which her score counted towards the overall team score.
In both her sophomore and junior seasons, Hinson-Tolchard carded 22 par-or-better rounds, each tied for the most ever by a Cowgirl in a single season.
Now a two-time All-American and the reigning Big 12 Player of the Year, Hinson-Tolchard is already one of the most decorated players in Cowgirl history through just her junior season.
