OSU Track & Field Wraps up Busy Weekend with Several Impressive Performances in Arizona

TUCSON, Ariz. – Oklahoma State outdoor track & field concluded the third day of the Jim Click Shootout in Tucson, Ariz., Saturday with five event winners and several athletes tabbing personal bests.
OSU finished fourth on the women's side with 82 points and fifth on the men's with 59.50 points, concluding the weekend with victories spread out across the meet. Bailey Golden scored the first victory for the Cowgirls on the weekend with her program record-setting victory in the Heptathlon on Friday.
OSU's 4x400 Meter Relay squads demolished the field, each taking home the victory with top-10 performances in program history. The Cowgirl quartet of Ansley Scott, Tamara Woodley, Tori Ortiz and Yasmine Johnson teamed up to take the top spot, scoring five team points for the Cowgirls. Their winning time of 3:37.84 puts them tenth in OSU history.
Meanwhile, the Cowboys capped off the day with a victory in the same event, clocking a time of 3:05.88. Charlie Bartholomew, EJ Berry, Cash Merutka and DJ McArthur came together to take the top spot, with their performance placing them third in program history.
Blair Anderson made his season debut for the Cowboys, scoring 10 points in the team race after taking home the individual victory in the Long Jump. Anderson has the longest jump among active Cowboys, and his 7.75-meter leap lands him on OSU's podium as the second-longest jump in program history, the best effort since Jacob Fincham-Dukes' 8.00-meter jump at the NCAA Championships in 2019..
Pole Vaulter Ariadni Adamopoulou secured her first victory of the outdoor season with a 4.05-meter vault on her first attempt. For the reigning Big 12 Indoor champion, it's the third event victory for Adamopoulou this year, spanning across indoor and outdoor seasons. OSU outdoor newcomer Sarah Stair also contributed to the Cowgirls score with a 3.75-meter performance.
In the throws arena, freshman Rachel Neaves continued her strong debut campaign with a 58.90-meter toss in the Hammer Throw. Neaves' performance is a personal best and is the fourth-best throw in OSU history. Hannah Bradford also performed well on the day, contributing to OSU's point total with her performances in the Hammer and Discus Throws. For the men, Sam Mason scored in the Hammer Throw with a 57.78-meter toss.
The Cowgirls scored 15 points in the 800 Meter Run, highlighted by Michaela Travers taking home the top spot with her 2:09.07 finish. With her win, Travers earned her first individual victory in the 800 Meters and her second podium finish of the outdoor season, spanning across multiple events. Freshman Ava Honore scored five points for OSU with her fourth-place finish with a personal best outdoor time of 2:11.59.
In the men's 400 Meters, four Cowboys finished in the top five spots contributing 23 points for OSU. Bartholomew led the way, finishing second overall with a time of 46.42. McArthur, Merutka and Justin Long followed Bartholomew, filling up the remainder of the top five, with McArthur tabbing a career best.
In the Javelin Throw, Micalah Millard set a new personal best with her 45.40-meter toss and is the fourth-farthest throw in OSU history, while contributing four points to the Cowgirls. For the men, Nate Nuthman and Crayton Shaw scored for the Cowboys with their 53.68 and 47.59-meter performances, respectively.
The Cowboys and Cowgirls will now prepare for a multi-meet weekend next week, where they will be split across four separate meets from coast-to-coast from April 13-15.
