February 21, 2023 | Cowgirl Equestrian
STILLWATER – Oklahoma State remained No. 7 in Tuesday's NCEA rankings, marking its third consecutive week in that position.
The Cowgirls opened their spring season with back-to-back ranked wins, first beating No. 5 Georgia at home before knocking off No. 8 Baylor in Waco. OSU claimed three MOP awards against Georgia: Sydney North in Fences, Claire McDowall in Horsemanship and Hannah Lovrien in Reining. Oklahoma State's win over Baylor was its first road win this season and 10th-straight against the Bears.
The win in Waco moved OSU to 4-3 on the season, while it now carries a 3-1 record in conference action.
Oklahoma State's next three opponents also made appearances in this week's rankings, with TCU at No. 2, UC Davis at No. 10 and Fresno State at No. 9.
The Cowgirls return home this weekend for a rematch with second-ranked TCU. The Horned Frogs claimed the first meeting between the teams this season, 12-6, on October 28th. TCU has struggled in Stillwater, however, as Oklahoma State in 12-1 all time against the Horned Frogs at home.
The remainder of the Cowgirls' schedule beyond TCU begins with a trip west to take on UC Davis and Fresno State on March 3-4. They'll then conclude their regular season with a home meet against the University of Lynchburg that will consist of Jumping Seat events only.
